Father Landell

Landell x Marconi x Fessenden

”Who inventet the wireless telephony ? The wireless telephony, both acoustic and luminous wave and electrical or magnectic, was the author of these Lines"

– Roberto Landell de Moura

The differences between Landell x Marconi

The main difference between Roberto Landell de Moura and Marconi, was that Father Landell transmitted the human voice wirelessly called radiotelephony, while Marconi transmitted the morse code signal wirelessly called the radiotelegraphy.

Another interesting fact was that Father Landell used and recomended the usage of the short waves in order to expand the distance of the wireless transmission, according to his 1904 USA patent description. Landell interview to the New York Herald in 1902, he said the wireless voice distance was "Practically infinite". In the other hand Marconi, did not believe on it. As per his interview to the newspaper The Evening World, in New York, dated January 23rd 1903, page 3, Marconi believed it was not possible to achieve long distances through short waves. Father Landell used to say it was "practically infinite" the range of the radiotelephony, while Marconi believed this technology would only serve for "short distances" and he did not believe on its improvement. Today, we know that through radio waves we communicate with other planets collecting and transmitting data, sounds and images.
