Roberto Landell de Moura

Brazilian Scientist and Priest, Father Landell was the pioneer of human voice wireless transmission. With little resources in Brazil in the late 1800s, he built his inventions himself in modest priest bedrooms inside the churches.

He made his 1st public human voice wireless experiment in 1899 and the 2nd in 1900, both with the press and personalities present. His 1st Patent in Brazil was in 1901 and he registered 3 other patents at The United Patent Office of New York, U.S.A, including the wireless telephone, in 1904.

He also used luminous waves to transmit human voice wirelessly, known today as optic fiber. Still in the USA, in 1904 Landell draw a project for image transmission at distance, a TV Prototype. The TV was only invented in the late 1920s.

Father Landell researched and photographed the luminous energy that surround the bodies in 1908. Only ~30 years later it was known as the Kirlian Effect. It was named after a Russian couple in 1939. However, in the year 2000, under the acknowledgment of Landell’s research decades before, the effect name was changed to Bioelectrography, also known as the Aura.

He dealt with many challenges, from access to money to finance his inventions to the taboo of Religion x Science. Being a Priest in a Catholic church and at the same time being a scientist was an antagonist bumpy road throughout his jorney. However as per him "I wish to show to the world that the Catholic Church is not the enemy of science or of the human progress”.

He continued his researches, not only in wireless communication, but as per his manuscripts he also studied and wrote about many diverse subjects such as Psychology, Hypnotism, Anthropology, Diseases, Medicines, Homeopaty, etc.
